The Chalet
Welcome to our magnificent chalets in the beautiful region of Styria, south of Salzburg and within easy reach of Vienna & Graz as well as the Croatian coast.
Our chalet has its own unique charm. Accomodation comprises: open plan living & dining with galley kitchen, three bedrooms & sleeps 6-8. The chalet also has a sauna, two bathrooms and a ski-room with heated boot rack
Outside the chalet has a large south facing sun terrace and a covered terrace and barbeque for outdoor dining..
Out and About
The chalets are situated on the edge of the village of Stadl which lies on the borders of the provinces of Salzburg, Styria & Corinthia. The region has many lakes and the majestic Hohe Tauren Mountain range boasts some of Austria’s most snow sure skiing. The area benefits from over two hundreds days of sunshine a year making it a truly dual season resort.
Stadl an der Mur sits on the banks of the beautiful river Mur. Within walking distance of the chalets can be found a bathing lake, rope course playground, tennis court and volleyball. The village itself has two restaurants,a coffee shop, small supermarket, bakery, chemist and a bank.
Should you wish to go further afield nearby Murau, St Lorenzen and Tamsweg have a number of shops and restaurants.
Summer & Winter activities
Summer:
In summer, the local mountains offer a wide variety of hiking trails whilst children can also enjoy Kreischbergs dinosaur forest for an adventure. There are also numerous mountain lakes to enjoy and for the more adventurous rafting on the river Mur.
Other activities to be found in the area include Mountain biking, summer tobogganing and fishing in Lake Turracher See. The Nockberge National Park and the thermal and healing bath Karlbad with natural Schaffelbad in the National Park are also within reach. A reptile zoo can be found in Patergassen and horse and pony trekking in Bad Kleinkirchheim. A new 18 hole golf course was opened last year in Kreischberg.
Winter:
Within close proximity there are a number of ski regions including Turracher and Kreischberg which between them have over 40 kilometres of skiing. In the neighbouring province of Saltzburgerland the area of Obertauern has120 kilometres of piste.
